How do I get the 25% student discount? Just sign up using your valid tertiary institution email address. Please note: This is not automatically applied. An invoice will be sent for the discounted amount.
Where do we meet?
* Frank Kitts Park: Our normal meeting area is up top of the Car Park (where the weekend markets are) right next to the lagoon area at Frank Kitts Park on the waterfront. There is a pedestrian over-bridge leading directly to the area we meet. If we are not there, please walk around the park as we will always be around.
What do I bring to the sessions? - We provide all the equipment you need for a safe and effective workout. Just bring a drink bottle, a small towel for perspiration and some comfortable sports clothing including some warm outerwear. Please do not forget your medication as required.
What if I miss a session? - Sometimes you just can't make it, life gets in the way and we are more than happy for you to make up the session as long as it within the current 4 week block of boot camp. Please remember than we cannot compensate for a change of circumstance or illness caused outside of boot camp.
What happens when it rains? - Please see below for locations if it rains.
* Frank Kitts Park: The carpark at Frank Kitts Park is well sheltered for us to use when in rains. The sessions will be conducted in the car park directly below the outside meeting area if it is raining. There are very few cars until around 7:45am so don't worry you wont get run over. Don't be put off by the rain or extreme cold. The car park is relatively empty and provides a surprisingly warm area to exercise in.
Are there any changing facilities, showers or toilets? - Unfortunately not. We are outdoors in the open. Frank Kitts Park does have public toilets however, we advise that you come to boot camp ready to go for your workout.
Can I try before I buy? - Yes you sure can. We offer a free trial session at any stage. However, certain session times do sell out so please don't be disappointed if we cannot offer a free place. To avoid this we recommend signing up asap.
I am really unfit, can I handle this? - Yes you Can!. Our sessions are designed so that you exercise at your pace and will never be out in a situation where you feel you are holding the group up. We have a variety of fitness levels.
What if I have never attended a boot camp before: Is this for me? - Yes, our trainers are experts at tailoring the exercises to you current ability and showing you the same exercise at different difficulty levels. We are not army drill sergeants and are there to encourage you. We can also advise alternatives if you have injuries. Please do not be shy in asking if an exercise can be modified we are here to help you.
No really the word Boot Camp scares me, Is this for me? - Yes, trust me it is. We are not the sensationalised camouflage wearing instructors. Boot Camps is just the name of our business. We Aim to get you fit while having fun. Bring a friend along and enjoy a new, healthier, happier you.
Are you a cross fit place? - No, we have been successfully operating within the fitness industry for 7 years, well before cross fit became all the rage. Don't worry no one will be flipping tyres, taking their shirt off or running with weights.
Have just completed my first boot camp and it was awesome! No more Monday-itis when you have fun exercise to start your day off. James certainly knows what he is doing which is a nice change! No day is ever the same and secretly look forward to finding out what fun hell he has in store for us each session.
James is an excellent motivator and gives advise on form and technique whilst pushing you to your limit! He's helped me change my attitude towards fitness as a lifestyle choice rather than just a chore!
Bootcamps Wellington is a great way to exercise and have a laugh at the same time. James is a great instructor always keeps you motivated and works you hard each week.
James (and Kara) are trainers 'extraordinaire' - they understand that a chap like me that's getting on in years faces a few issues and accommodate that fact - but still ensure that I get a complete workout - every time! The fact that there is a considerable range of time and session choices is also a bonus - so, if you know anybody that wants to start (or keep) looking after themselves - Boot Camps Wellington is THE place to go!
Love these sessions. On round 7 now and am thoroughly enjoying how much stronger and fitter each round has made me. James is great to train with and fantastic at encouraging us to keep going!!
These boot camps are almost like summer fun - seriously. Who doesn't love being outside on the waterfront early in the morning on these stunning days we have been having. And who doesn't love exercising with a great group of people. No day is ever the same at Boot Camps Wellington and James always keeps us on our toes. What I love is that the programmes he creates can be done by everyone and you can push yourself as hard as you want to or are able to on any particular day. Definitely recommend!
